We were delighted to read a review from Ewan Wishart in the Westmorland Gazette today. Some of the comments from customers they reported about Croft House Farm’s “delicious” drinks and cakes, “relaxing” atmosphere, “friendly” staff and that it is dog-friendly.
Another person said it was “a café well worth visiting”.
“Before and after we walked around Buttermere Lake, we had coffees and cakes at Croft House Farm Café. The staff were friendly and helpful, and, as I told them at the time, their fruit scones were the lightest and tastiest I have had anywhere.
“The cakes looked equally good, and there was a good range of lunch fare, which I wish we had stayed for instead of where we ended up.”
Someone else recounted their trip to the Buttermere spot: “One of the best small cafes I’ve been to. I had the lamb hotpot here, and ordered a hot butter beer. Brought my nostalgia out – there was so much flavour and tenderness in the lamb.
“It’s hands down the best café I’ve been to in terms of taste. The ambience is great too, with vibe lighting and a backdrop of the mountains on the other side, all situated within a paid parking lot. It was excellent. If I get to come to Buttermere again, I’ll certainly dine here.”
